Summer comes and summer goes...quickly

When I first got home for the summer I was super excited to not be in classes anymore and couldn't wait to see my beautiful Oregon, but I felt like the summer would never end. Now that I'm sitting back in Provo with only a little over a week before classes start again I wonder where my summer actually went. I never thought I would survive Forever 21 with money in my bank or my legs still intact. I never thought my Dad would make it through the summer without killing me or kicking me out of the house. I never thought I would actually want to be in Utah instead of Oregon (not for the state but for BYU).  I never thought a lot of things would happen this summer. Let me run through the surprises and joys of my summer:
1. I never thought I would watch the sunrise at the
highest point on Maui with my friends from school.

2. I never thought I would come home from Maui on crutches.
(Thankfully there are no pictures of this).
3. I never realized until this summer how hard flying a kite is.
(but found out I was talented when it came to hitting my brothers with it).
4. I never thought my friend Ellie from school would come and visit
but I KNEW she'd fall instantly in love with Oregon.
4. I KNEW I have the cutest nieces in the world and will miss them
every second I am in Utah away from them.
5. I never thought my brother would get married this summer
and even more so I never thought we would make it THROUGH
the wedding (but I know now it was beautiful).
6. I confirmed how much I LOVE the Oregon Coast.
7. I realized that my family loves me...?
8. I realized (again) how much I love them and will miss them
(and that includes ALL the family I'm lucky enough to have live near).
There are no pictures to show that.
9. I realized (again) how much I rely on my best friend Kate
and how much I'll miss her.
(yes sometime we look a little too much like a couple ha)
10. I realized that we should live each day without thinking of the future or the past, but to just live and love the day we are in at the moment.
11. (I just can't end on an even number for some reason) I realized that although I am super excited to be back at school and start a new year and new adventures I will treasure my summer and the memories I have made during it. I will treasure all those you helped make it a summer to remember.
I love all of you back in Oregon and will miss you everyday I am apart from you.
(And I do promise to be better about blogging)
:)

Dear Anna,
I am glad you are blogging again.I totally know the feeling of something lasting forever but disappearing at the same time! Sounds like you had a very eventful summer! I'm glad I got to see you, even though it was for .5 seconds!
Love, Miriam
